Sam Schulman

Professor at the Department of Medicine, McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada and Director of Clinical Thromboembolism Program in Hamilton, ON, Canada.

Sam Schulman, MD, was trained by the medical program at the Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden). He then specialized in internal medicine and blood coagulation disorders at the Karolinska Hospital (Stockholm, Sweden) and also worked at the National Hemophilia Center, Sheba Medical Center, Ramat Gan, Israel, after which, he moved to the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Thromboembolism, HHS-General Hospital, Hamilton, ON, Canada.
Professor Schuman’s major research interests are clinical studies in venous thromboembolism. He has devoted another large part of his research to hemophilia, its treatment and complications of viral transmission by blood products. He is currently involved in trials with new antithrombotic agents.
