Marcel Levi

Professor of Medicine, University College London, UK.

After his medical training and specialization in internal medicine at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands), he obtained his PhD with honors (1991) and was appointed as a Fellow by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science. He joined a postgraduate master in Evidence-Based Healthcare, University of Oxford (UK); he has also worked at the University of Perugia (Italy) and at the Center for Transgene Technology and Gene Therapy at the University of Leuven (Belgium).
Professor Levi’s research interests are hemostasis and thrombosis, new anticoagulants and pro-hemostatic agents, management of thrombosis and bleeding, and coagulation in critically ill patients.
He has authored more than 700 peer-reviewed articles in various scientific journals, and he is a member of the Editorial Board of major journals in thrombosis and hemostasis (Journal of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, European Journal of Internal Medicine, Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis and many more).
