Professor Eichinger’s experience at the Medical University of Vienna included clinical training at the Hemophilia Center, Coagulation Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Departments of Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Cardiology, Angiology, Radiation Therapy, and Gastroenterology, and at Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA). She is member of the American Society of Hematology and of the International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis.
Her expertise concerns the designing and conducting clinical studies in hemophilia, acute venous thromboembolism, secondary prevention of venous thromboembolism, cancer and venous thrombosis. Professor Eichinger is also interested in the investigation of procoagulants and anticoagulants, evaluation of risk factors of thrombotic diseases and evaluation of markers of coagulation activation.
