Professor Prandoni graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padova, where he also specialized in internal medicine, hematology and cardiology. He received a PhD from the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) in 1995 and he has been a visiting Professor at the University of Boston (MA, USA) in 1995.
Professor Prandoni is a recognized expert in the field of coagulopathy and in thromboembolic disease. He has authored more than 460 publications and 20 book chapters on diagnosis, physiopathology, therapy and prevention of deep vein thrombosis and its related co-morbidities.
