Ismail Elalamy
Professor of Hematology and Head of the Hematology Department at Tenon University Hospital (Paris, France) and current President of the French Society of Angiology.
Professor Elalamy has established an expert center for heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) diagnosis and management, as well as a research center for thrombotic or bleeding risk stratification with specialized clinical and laboratory activity in platelet studies.
Prof Elalamy has given over 300 symposia and plenary lectures at international congresses, on a diverse range of issues including platelet activation, HIT, hereditary thrombophilia, antithrombotic strategies and resistance to anti-platelet agents. He has written over 200 peer-reviewed articles and collaborated on several books on hemostasis and thrombosis, as well as edited the first French book on HIT and practical guidebooks on direct oral anticoagulants.
